Resources for Librarians

As we move towards online learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic, many librarians are looking for ways to provide students and teachers with resources. It’s important at this trying time to maintain some sense of continuity for our students, and being able to communicate can be trying. All of our districts use Canvas and Google Classroom, but many of our Media Specialists may not have access.

Please talk to your principal about ways you can be involved. Many teachers would welcome your input, and you may be able to be added to a Canvas Course or a Google Classroom. You can use Youtube to create videos to share with teachers to link in their courses with a variety of topics:

  • How to use Sora
  • Read Alouds with Authors
  • Virtual Field Trips
  • Book Clubs
  • Using Utah’s Online Library
  • How they can still get books from your library
  • Fake News (great time to inform them!)

I have created a Google Document and it will be updated as I find resources, please click here to view it. If you find a great resource not listed, send it to me (chris@sedck12.org)

As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns, and thanks for all you do to support our students and teachers, librarians rock!
