Reading Engagement and Programs

Discover innovative, cost-effective strategies to motivate K–12 readers across rural Southern Utah. This breakout session highlights statewide reading initiatives—including Ken Garff for Good, the Utah State Library Book Breaks expansion, and custom Sora Digital Library reading challenges. In addition to state-funded resources, participants will learn low-prep, high-impact routines (such as First Chapter Fridays and Book Tastings), low-cost passive displays, and gamified incentives that foster lifelong reading habits without straining library budgets.
