April is Autism Awareness Month

Autism is often a misunderstood developmental disorder, as it has many degrees of severity and unknown factors, but educators, parents and others who interact with people who have the disorder can increase their knowledge during a free symposium Tuesday evening at Southern Utah University.

Thanks to Vivian Dye for organizing the “Light it Up Blue” and getting sponsors and volunteers together to raise awareness!

Bob Wasden, SEDC Autism Specialist will be speaking at the Symposium Tuesday evening. Bob works with schools and families across Southern Utah to provide training and support to educators and families. SEDC also hosts a yearly Autism Conference, this years will be April 27 and will feature speaker Dr. Ronald Leaf.
